ACLU v. NSA arguments in the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals

Back

From aclu.org/nsaspying: ACLU attorney Ann Beeson and clients in the ACLU v. NSA lawsuit after oral arguments at the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. The ACLU argued the president broke the law by authorizing the National Security Agency to engage in warrantless eavesdropping of Americans' phone calls. While the Bush administration recently said that he has received new authority for surveillance from a secret intelligence court, the President has said that he still has the power to ignore the law when he wants to. The ACLU asked the Sixth Circuit to require the President to comply with the law.

Ann Beeson, ACLU associate legal director and lead cousel in the case, is joined by ACLU clients and attorneys on the steps of the courthouse just after the oral arguments.

I can't help but notice that all of the arguments against the ACLU posted here consist solely of ad-hominem slanders such as "They're all commies!" or "They're just stupid!"

they also complain about things like gays and christianity. these are the least important things the aclu does but they get the most attention because of fucked up organizations like fox news

Mwg323, do not disparage the unequal distribution of intellect if the best argument against the ACLU you can come up with is that they are "dominated colectivley by socialist media whores." The poor spelling is overlookable, but the dearth of fact or logic is inexcusable. Name-calling does not a salient argument make.

Onclave6, you don't seem to understand the concept of "proof". The idea connotes irrefutability, and none of your offerings thus far even begin to approach such a status. There's nothing wrong with faith, my friend, but never mistake it for proof. They are polar opposites of a nameless attribute.
