I think you're right, the bubble already seems to be bursting, what with hundreds of construction workers laid off and property prices dropping. The credit crunch was always going to affect Dubai, there's just not the people now who are willing to buy and invest, fall in oil prices etc. Growth is down from aprox 10% last year to 6% this year, although I doubt it will be a major collapse, more slowdown, plus Abu Dhabi and it's huge oil wealth will surely be at hand to help out if it gets serious

I don't want to spoil the fun here but I can't help but wonder whether Dubai will be the next financial bubble to burst. Comments, insights anyone?

kgeyst, that's utter rubbish. The tallest tower realisically planned in Moscow is the amazing Russia Tower, however it is projected to be 612m, nowhere near as tall as the Burj, approx 200m shorter in fact! It will be the tallest only in Europe, still very impressive tho..
