Yup. They are politicians. they know nothing. And they don't know about the solutions other countries have already come up with. Nuclear power plants would blow away our coal plants and provide energy for billions of years to come. A solar panel will get us 10 years of some energy and 10 more of half the efficient gathering. A lot of the favorable alternatives are dead ends if you go all out on them. We need all out nuclear and some alternatives to take the loads away.

Why are we listening to lawyers and politicians discuss energy policy. What do they know about the technology. I will stack my Masters and PhD degrees in engineering up against thier knowlage and see who can come up with a better energy policy.

um...do your homework!
No TMI worker or nearby resident was killed or has ever suffered from radiation exposure. Even though there was a partial meltdown in the reactor, no radiation escaped from the containment shielding. The surronding area was exposed to less than 1 millirem of radiation. The average person is exposed to 100 millirem of natural radiation per year.
Because of TMI, the US nuclear power industry is one of the cleanest and safest sorces of electricity in the world.

R u retarded?! Edwards does not know what the heck hes talking about, nuclear power is by far the best solution to the energy crisis and its not very dangerous at all, the waste product is also much less then any other technique that produces positive power

nobama15 (October 26, 2008 at 8:49 pm)
I'm dangerous because i believe in a cleaner, safer, more reliable power?
Deathridesahorse2 (October 31, 2008 at 7:09 am)
...nobama15, you're dangerous because you're a liar!
How energy intensive is the recovery of its unused potential??? (tell 'em that!)
Industrialists follow The Merchants Wheel like they just don't care .. tell 'em to get F^@$*d!!!

You do realize that France generates virtually all of her energy from Nuclear power, and they reporocess the fuel to maximize costs. Do you really think they'd reprocess if it wasn't feasible? Carter was an idiot for preventing it here.
Nuclear is already more efficient and less costly than anything but coal, and reprocessing spent fuel assemblies would only make it cheaper.
When Obama 'outlaws' coal, we'll have no choice.
Get ready for $300 electric bills Obama supporters.....
