more are diagnosed each year.
It is believed that 10% of these are under 49, w ith a good m ajority in their late teens, 20's, 30's, and 40's. These
individuals are graduating college, starting careers, relationships, families, and trying to build a future for
themselves and their loved ones.
These are referred to as being diagnosed as "young onset".
ABOUT THE PROJECT

people diagnosed w ith young onset Parkinson's disease. The film w ill be unscripted, real, at times humorous and
other times shocking. It will show them living life as close to or better then before diagnosis. It will show them
accommodating these symptoms and side effects despite the daily challenges thrown at them by the symptoms
of the disease and side effects of the various medications.

I have Young Onset Parkinson's too and it makes life so difficult. It can change from hour to hour. I am part of P.A.N and go to D.C. everyear to Capitol Hill to ask for money to help find a cure. Being younger, Parkinson's affects us differently than older patients. I give you so much credit to do what you do and face each day. I am planning to go to New York in April for the Unity Walk to raise money for P.D.I raised money last year and ran a Marathon plus 6 other races. Too hard this year.

hi tom, my nane is mike, dxd about 15yr ago, if i didnt know better i would swear i was watching a vid of me.. even the crawling to the bathroom in the middle of the night. i had experemental gene therapy a little over 2 yrs ago, i think it has helped, especially with my med intake. i now take far less than before, with about the same results.

FEARofTREMOR (September 5, 2007 at 1:47 am)
I am only 24 and I am terrified of what is happening to me right now. I got out my camera phone an recorded a video. My pinky won't stop shaking. Please watch and tell me what you think. I'm not sure what exactly this is. What do you think... Essential tremor? early Parkinsons?
