Tuck shrinking is a manual method of shrinking sheet metal. There are many ways to do it and once mastered is fast and easy. Kris Pinkerton demonstrated one way that is easy to learn and teach.

And you almost always work metal cold when tuck shrinking.

i bet you wouldnt do that with steel, atleast not cold anyway.

That is 19 ga cold rolled STEEL. Not the AKDQ stuff...plain old cold rolled. I've tuck shrunk easily in 18 ga. Gets much more difficult with 16 ga steel but can be done.

Aluminum (3003) can be tuck shrunk the same way but you must be VERY, VERY careful not to lay the tuck over. Once you do, the aluminum will eventually crack.

This is really an incredible video. 5 stars. I enjoy working with metal too, but what I do is very simple compared to this. I have a video of me in my garage playing with some metal if you want to check it out. So far people don't really like it.

We did a 80 minute Metalshaping 101 video that you might like. Very practical.

Search in Ebay, english wheel then Metalshaping 101.
