I liked the part where Cesar said, "I train humans and rehabilitate dogs." Apparently Dennis got a kick out of it too...he really laughed.

It is in fact true! It is the very last thing said by Cesar. After that Dennis laughs. I don't know why you don't hear that.

Obviously, people commenting negatively do NOT watch Cesar's show or have studied his books. He does NOT believe in punishment, discipline is totally different, and that is what he promotes. People should not comment and make assumptions if you have no clue on the subject.

I'm a little alarmed by what you say.
He uses alpha-rolling as a technique? What is this, the seventeenth century?
Positive reinforcement and consistency.
Dogs training doesn't require all of this drama and pop-psychological twaddle.

Cesar rehabilitates dogs that have gone out of controle, normal dogs don't need as much work. but by the way you talk about it it's pretty clear how ignorant you are on what he does.

Of course they dont fight all the time you idiot, it only takes one fight to declare a dominent dog, and the rest follow becuase it is a PACK, simliar to a family.There is still sharing and love spread around, just the dominate dog sets the boundaries.

Not as you are describing them. There is just a mated pair and helpers which help hunt and kill prey. The helpers are under no coercion to follow the mated pair, except they can't mate. The original studies that found a strict heirarchy in wolves were faulty. You cannot know wolf behavior from stressed and bored individuals. Actually, dogs have evolved to follow rules and direction better than wolves. That has nothing to do with dominance.

Check out the work L. David Mech. The man knows more about wolf behavior than anyone. He's considered the world's foremost experton wolf behavior. Teach dogs using operant conditioning. Don't jab them with your fingers or throw them on their backs. That's not science. An alpha roll is a good way to get bitten badly. Dogs don't do that to each other, except in play. Rolling over is a pacifying gesture done by the dog wanting to submit. It is not rolled over.
