only reason lin dan was losing the first game was because he was analyzing his opponents weakness as u can see in game 2 he is owning.

Depends on the situation. The ones they play may land closer to the service line, but they are much faster. While slow ones may be able to move the opponent out of position, their slowness allows for an easy net kill if the opponent anticipates it

speed of the shuttle decides that difference ... pretty much what swordfish said.

choice of landing closer to the net but slower versus landing a little further from the net but faster.
