MTV ruined Dire Straits for me...that video played non-stop but then I was transferred to Germany for a couple of the years and didn't get MTV! I still have "Fat Bottomed Girls" on 45, used to think it was "wicked nasty" but it seems quite tame nowadays..

It seems I am not alone... I HATED this song when it was released in the 80's, but now I hear how soulful it really is.

Me too! Same as when "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits came out! Freddie was also one of the first to have the short haircut in the early 80's.

Just saw "We Will Rock You" in Toronto...had to look up this song because its been years since I heard it! I remember I hated it back in the 80s and thought the video was cheesy but I must say it was prophetic in respect to the current state of music and to Freddie's unfortunate death....still love the Live Aid performance!!
