This video is much better than a MILLION words!

Talking of common rail ...
In fact, my Renault Mégane is a very good example of GOOD Environmental behaviour, because LESS fuel for a same job means LESS polution. And worse of all, the polution of the EXCESS fuel (because of the traditional poor combustion) is much worse than the pure proportional ratio to the GOOD quantity of fuel.
This is the best, talking of conventional engines. I am waiting for (really) good electrical drives.

Excellent video, but dont higher combustion temps cause increased NOx emissions?

Yer and that is why new enignes have EGR valves to lower the temp.

VERY nice job. It is truly fantastic that FOUR separate injection events can occur in the time of one power stroke cycle. What (whose) system is this exactly? There are several variations of the common rail electronic system. This appears to me to be most similar to the Ford/Navistar powerstroke hydraulic design. Several other brands use a cam-operated design for the high pressure injection stroke.

I'm Andrea, this is the FIAT/BOSCH Common Rail system, it is used in many Diesel engine in Europe.
