Saw the film and it wasn't even entertaining. Predictable and over the top characters, not believable. Depalma tries to do a remake of his "Casualties of War" film that starred Penn and Fox in 1988. Difference was this film uses C-rate actors and not one likable, believable or sympathetic character which the 1st film had. Too much one-sided anti-war preaching to the audience.

it is a fictitious story. . .based on factual stories. . .supporting fictitious, and factual perspectives on a fictitiously factual-seeming war. . .

DePalam did not expect to make any money at the Box Office. Showing at all int he US was a charitable act lost on th emorons who attack it without seeing it.

They also want to make sure no US Military get curious and go see it. They might have to think.

And yes I saw it and it is a masterpiece, not only because of content because of DePalma's wholly original play with a new medium, that is meta-film.

Bonehead Da Palma should take the 26 thousand this film made on opening weekend and buy a nice big cup of shut the fuck up.
