Paul introduced The Sanctity of Life Act of 2005, a bill that would have defined human life to begin at conception, and removed challenges to prohibitions on abortion from federal court jurisdiction.

why the fuck is ben affleck there?
mdjpdv2 (August 28, 2008 at 9:18 pm)
wrong, he believes that the federal government should not control the abortion rights or who you can love socially. he also is for a bill to legalize marijuana

im extremely liberal too.............. ron paul is my hero

Then Kucinich should be your #1.

Assertion of Ron Paul being Bill's hero is exaggerated. Bill Maher supports Paul's view on foreign policy thus opposition to more recently passed fascist acts...but other than that, these two gentlemen have NOTHING in common. Maher is extremely liberal while Paul is strongly conservative.

i'd say that on top of foreign policy and what the real problems are in america, they're both liberals when it comes to social/personal freedom.
but as far as economic freedom goes? hell no. maher, like any democrat, wants to tax in order to provide good education/healthcare/etc., while ron paul is the total opposite (more than any other republican).
ron paul is a do wtf you want guy, wether its with your life or money.

Not exactly; Unlike Maher, Ron Paul is an advocate of outlawing rights to abortion, homosexuality, marijuana, and is against the separation of church and state...there goes the "do what you want"...
These four components seem pretty important to Bill Maher, he is more of a Kucinich type (...that didnt' come out right).

you sure about that... the main thing he wants is for the government not to be some kind of moral authority i.e. let people (or the states) decide for themselves whats right and wrong. i think that stance of his supersedes what his personal beliefs may be.

I am absolutely sure about that.
It is also evident without an insightful research, Paul is strongly conservative.
If Paul trusts the states so much, he would have supported Patriot Act and H.R.1955 to ruled by the states. From his [personal] conservative perspective, he just wants to see less of what he does not like. With liberalism there is always a CHOICE for the people.
To a libertarian liberal like me, Ron Paul is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
