the first time I saw this segment was in a preparation for teaching a leadership workshop called, Egonomics, after the book. The essence of Fred Rogers approach, as we set it up in the workshop, is a Carl Rogers (father of modern psychology) skill called Unconditional Positive Regard. Watch how Fred Rogers continues to hold Pastore (Senator) in UPR. It's the most effective approach to deal with an adversarial situation. No question, this was one for PBS.

What a thoroughly nice guy. This is one of the first hearings Ive seen where the speaker isnt constantly interrupted or attacked. Thats respect.

What a great man. Now it seems PBS is phasing out Mr. Roger's re-runs. How sad considering what he did for public television, and what we all learned from him.

God Bless you, Mr. Rogers.

this world today is lacking many things in many ways-
a collective sense of self-respect and respect for eachother is just the beginning.
Fred Rogers taught that.
This world is missing Mr Rogers.

he was such a good teacher. Honestly, I dont think that I ever would have gone to college if I hadnt watched him every morning.

He had a talent for making you not feel like crap.
