A great theory of alternative econ. I'm looking forward to reading his book: "After Capitalism".

sounds too much like money. Profits? If there are, then it won't be socialism
dctineffect17 (July 24, 2008 at 2:43 am)
physical force can't be used, therefore capitalism is best? The two leading capitalist powers (China and the United States) are also the two leading proponents of physical force today. The U.S. with the highest incarceration rate in the world and a military that kills more civilians abroad than any other, and China one of the least free most oppressive states there is.

This is laughable, they say they don't want centralized control yet they arbitrarily decide what are relationships are and make us all slaves.

Capitalism is the only moral system. One cannot use physical force or fraud. Those are the rules. Only voluntary agreements are allowed, and De Jure Private property made that acceptable.

At 9:30 min. nothing he said was true. Capitalism has brought more prosperity to the poor than any other source.

Reality > Parecon

Reality > Market Socialism

Reality = Captialism

I like the idea of workplace democracy, but not "socially controlled capital." The only major problem with capital markets today are fractional-reserve banks.
Terilien (December 11, 2007 at 11:01 pm)
It lacks a functioning price system which is well a very severe flaw...

Still better than the status quo though...
Terilien (December 11, 2007 at 10:59 pm)
Still I don't really beleive in "economic democracy". State controlled(or chartered) banks are "teh u17!m373 3v!1".
kittiest34 (August 13, 2008 at 5:29 pm)
I would agree. I don't like the sound of state control period. Authority is troublesome and it has proved so. Money? Banks? Okay state socialism is just stae capitalism spelled differently.
