On ABORTION: Has an anti-abortion voting record, but opposes a constitutional amendment to ban abortion and instead favors letting states restrict the procedure as they see fit. Urges supporters to contend the federal judiciary that outlaws abortion restrictions lacks jurisdiction to take up the issue. www.nhprimary.com

take a look at how bankrupt we are and how we've sacrificed our nations' sovereignty with a 26,000 page world trade organization agreement and tell me it's not better to have more autonomously run states.

i actually am looking forward; we'll be forced to either return to a more states-rights oriented setup, or go into bankruptcy which will lead to a dictatorship. it's already happening. have fun with that "ideal".

I see, okay. But would following what you perceive was the original vision of the founding fathers make things better necessarily? Do you believe the original government was perfect? Hasn't the US evolved away from the model of severely limited government for a reason - changing times/technology/conditions? I would disagree with your position, because it is reactionary. You look back, not forward. A government that fits our time is not in the past. We must keep adapting the ideal.

the states deciding isn't about deciding the issue itself, it's about taking the power out of the federal government's hands and not having this be something the federal government subsidizes with useless regulations and bureaucracy. there's nothing about this in the constitution, so the power automatically goes to each state to decide what to allow and what not to allow. that's just following the law, whether we're talking about abortion or anything else.

Having 'the states' decide does not change a single thing! There will be people on both sides in every state, so you will still take away the rights of the pro-choice minority if you vote on it - same deal as a nation voting, exactly the same. So let's leave it to the counties, or municipalities, or better yet, individuals! They can decide for themselves without imposition from larger entities. Freedom for all, bitch.

that's so funny at the end when the reporter starts writing furiously on his notepad and Ron gets all nervous, lol!

That woman is an idiot! By saying 'how often does an 8-month abortion happen', is ridiculous. The fact that it could EVER happen except in the case of extreme risk to health of the mother, it unbelievable. I really like Ron Paul, and would have voted for him, had I not thought that meant a vote for BO. He's 100% right, that abortion should NOT be subsidized by either the federal or state government. We should not have to have my tax dollars going to someone's abortion!

I may not agree with all of Ron Paul's views, but I certainly can respect them. Why? They're well-reasoned and actually do these complicated issues justice by not simply dumbing them down into all abortion is bad/all abortion is good.

Very well said, I agree with you. I would like to see a Dennis Kucinich/Ron Paul ticket for president one day.

sigh if only he was president :(
