Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address

Back

Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life's setbacks -- including death itself -- at the university's 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005.

I don't think you understood his message. He's saying that the big house and loads of money aren't what bring happiness. Instead, following your gut and not allowing external pressures drown out your originality--these are the sources of happiness.

Wish I meet two people in my life. George Carlin and Jobs.

GC had much to talk about owners, but I think even he would drink friendly a coffee with this guy.

Thank you who upload this vid, and thank you Jobs.

This was great but if I'm ever as big as Steve Jobs I'm going to make Commencement Speeches at Community Colleges. The Story of Steve jobs doesn't really fit a school like Stanford.

ugh im sry but this IS one of the hardest things to do. wat he just said is nice and great but idealistic. it would be great if we could all do this but this is not how teh world works we work hard but that doesnt mean well become big and famous wit a big house and loads of money. not everyone can be a millionaire, but the question is why do it if aint really gonna do much in the end if you're not really happy.
