That is called a deist, and no, belief in god is not sane in any way. Faith, or belief in something without evidence, or despite the evidence against, is truly the greatest sin on mankind.

Did they kill in the name of Atheism ? Lot's of people are violent, but you can't always blame that on their religious beliefs. What if Ted Bundy was Christian. Would you then say that Christianity is a violent religion.
