If she was honestly so dim-witted to ask that question she definitely isn't going to unerstand any sort of logical rebutle.

Your realization is right on the mark, something that I've realized recently as well. Unfortunately it will be met with christian critisim and literalism that defies belief. The amount of actual "sheeple" out there is disheartening and disturbing. One thing I've also noticed, they have an answer for EVERYTHING. My favorite, check out "diabolical mimicry"....that one's great!

Religion is great, it gives dumb people a chance to feel smug and clever about something.

Keep fighting for logic, order, and reason. If we can fight for these things without a single one missing, we can save humanity from iteself.

Listening to creationists on this site for sometime now, I have observed a constant common denominator of the willingness by theists to engage in deceit to others and to themselves.
I can honestly say this realization has been something of a surprise considering the so-called moral 'high-road' theism historically proclaims.
The conclusion I am increasingly coming to is that the indoctrination into mythology results in a corruption of ethical committment to truth and honesty.
What irony.

So, true. I have spent years trying to find a religion or belief system that didn't lie, cover up the truth, get angry cos I ask questions etc, then one day i discovered I was an atheist.

"Breaking the Spell"
The God Delusion and God is not Great I have read. I own the end of faith. Will get to this book soon.
"Thankfully I never believed in a religion."
Virgin mind? I'm jealous.
