my conclusion is proof of climate changing hotter or colder does not prove CO2 plays any role. the only result of reducing CO2 is toxic diesel smoke and mercury filled light bulbs being promoted as 'green'.

It's hard to see the point of arguing when viewers can visit all the climate sites themselves - HadCRUT3, NCDC, GISS, UAH, RSS. I judge them to show recent warming, as well as a long term CO2-driven warming trend punctuated by typical short term ups and downs, all consistent with the basic CO2 forcing as the long term factor. However, anyone visiting these sites should draw his or her own conclusions.

in telling people to do this you continually show that you don't know how to read graphs. In these graphs you are so anxious to believe show warming you are only paying attention to upward spikes. You do want to see the more numerous downward spikes. On average these graph show a downward trend.

The earth is cooling. It is not warming.

Al Gore aside, I believe viewers may be less interested in refereeing YouTube arguments than understanding evidence underlying CO2-driven anthropogenic warming. Extensive data are found in the literature (GRL, PNAS, J. Climate, etc.), but web sources can be Googled for a start - "Global Warming" for a wikipedia overview, "Greenhouse Effect" for basic physics, "Climate Book" for a mathematically rigorous analysis, and "Lean Rind 2008" for a recent paper with model-independent confirmatory data.

al gore represents the dumbing down of science to a level that appeals to the masses. cigarettes cause lung cancer therefore CO2 causes global warming. no science or logic in it but i hear it everyday from al gore groupies. so what caused the more rapid than today climate change of the past grastog. that would be sunspot cycles, orbital changes, our position relative to the galaxies spiral arms and nearby supernovas. all things beyond our control. CO2 is insignificant except in ipcc fantasyland.

Whenever someone makes a claim I perceive to be contradicted by data, I prefer to refer readers to the data rather than asking them to referee a YouTube argument. Anyone wishing to know whether the Earth is warming or cooling should visit climate trend sites - HadCRUT3, NCDC, GISS, UAH, RSS. To me, the resumption of warming toward the long term CO2-driven trend is clear, but readers can draw their own conclusions. there has been record cold temperatures all over the world for 2 years now. But there has been no record heat.

I agree with you. You've made a great insightful comment and working on being more efficient in terms of energy will
fix our economy and insure future economic growth. I'm looking forward to figuring out how they are going to convert cars that guzzle gas. I would be so excited to buy a car that has a fuel cell chip.
