BackAugust 16, 2008 Seattle HEMPFEST
Rick Steves grew up in Edmonds, Washington and studied at the University of Washington where he received degrees in Business Administration and European History. But his real education came in Europe â since 1973 he's spent 120 days a year in Europe. Spending one third of his adult life living out of a suitcase in Europe has shaped his thinking. Today he employs 80 people at his Europe Through the Back Door headquarters in Edmonds where he produces 30 guidebooks on European travel, the most popular travel series in America on public television, a weekly hour-long national public radio show, and a weekly column syndicated by the Chicago Tribune. Rick and his wife Anne have traveled each of the last 18 years with their two kids, Andy and Jackie.

Rick Steves just gained 100,000 cool points. He is not simply a geeky traveler to me anymore thanks to this video. Although Anthony Bourdain is still cooler.
Legalize it!!!!!!
Legalize it!!!!!!

If jesus was a real person he would have smoked pot too. Saul was real, I bet you he blazed away. So was Constitine, I know they enjoied opium after a big holy war.
Lets see if we have this correct:
Pedophilia sanctioned by the Church. OK
Zero accounting for the Money donnated. OK
Drinking blood during Mass and Necrophila. OK
Teaching children they are sinners for wanting to have sex. OK
Laundering Money for the Nazis. OK
Politics in a tax exempt church. OK
Pot. Bad

"Some Christians need to be shaken loose of religion."
Well, then I'm doing my job! I'm even handing out "God is Fake" pamphlets!
As for influencing like-minded people, that's a big goal in my life. One interest of mine is election reform. It is possible to open our American elections to what are now minor party candidates, to eliminate strategic voting and reduce the influence of the media.
We need a preferential ballot, eg. instant runoff elections. It's much more democratic.

Jesus says to take up your cross and follow him. He says a person must lose their life to save it. For some people church simply makes them feel good or its where their friends are. Following Jesus is about spending time with him in prayer and worship all week. It's about sacrificing of yourself to help others in need.
James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

BOR-RING.
We're probably mutually boring each other. I'm guessing you don't really care about my plan to eliminate the possibility of vote splitting, and settling for the lesser of two evils, and I've already heard this old dusty Jesus blather a thousand times already.

Well, at least we both seem to advocate one of the best policies for the world, the end of prohibition. I mean, you must not like the fact that we fund the Taliban by only buying our drugs from the black market. Think how much less effective their stupid religious campaign might be if we weren't subsidizing them.

The illegal drug business empowers the wrong people with wealth for sure.
