I noticed that too but I think he was doing that to get a rise outta them. But his main point is very true, this new generation of female comedians just aren't funny. And they are a far cry from the previous generation who broke barriers in comedy which has always been a boys club.

But really I can't stress it enough. Sarah fucking Silverman and Tina Fey?! Candace Burgen is ten times the talent they are and she's not even a comedian. Pardon me Christopher Hitchens but that's like beating up on the disabled kids.
The problem is these talentless women get by on their looks and women with real talent are largely ignored.
I mean WHOOPY GOLDBERG! One of the smartest comedians ever to grace the stage. But she's not 'hot' so no one mentions her.

btw, I didn't realize that--although I do notice now the female comedians he's mentioning on this subject are um, what he calls..."d*kes, Jews or butch". Kinda harsh how he said it.

Historically for women, women always had a more difficult time being taken more seriously--they're seen as soft. When guys joke about females I think it's really mean. But I'm sure they feel the same when females joke too. Any, back on topic heheh

Good point

But also I think it's cultural. I come from an African background and all the women I grew up with in the family were hilarious. And any woman you propose to bring into the family has to be able to hold her own at party. But I think his focus was more for the White America experience, our culture is largely ignored when people speak of 'Americans' in general.

As a man, I am attracted to women with a more than passive sense of humor. The rest of it is verbose, but lacking any factual basis - it makes logical sense, but he has yet to offer proof - only assertions delivered with an air of insufferable arrogance.
On other matters, he often brings up good points, albeit in the most circumlocutious route possible. It's clear by his language though that in this case he's speaking only from his personal prejudices.

I'm female btw. I don't think it's as complicated as they make it, just some people simply don't think the humor matches the way others look and sound.

like how females seem to get off more on teasing guys than the other way around.
