Hugo Chavez: dreamer in power

Back

Today our SPOTLIGHT is on Venezuela. A group of Russian Naval vessels has set off for the Caribbean on this week to conduct joint manoeuvres with the Venezuelan navy. This development follows a week-long visit to Venezuela by a pair of Russian strategic bombers and comes as Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is visiting Russia this week. What is behind the intensifying contacts between Russia and Venezuela? Well talk about it with Director of the Latin American Centre at the Moscow State University of International Relations - Alla Zenkovich.

The problem with Chavez is that He believes that socialism is the only way to social justice. In part, this is correct but thanks to capitalism he has a lot of money for implementing his social programs. I think that the best socieconomical system must have apects from both systems. Greetings

What I like most about this woman is that she explicitly reminds us that she is not a specialist that could answer appropriately to some of the questions. If only more people admitted that they are sometimes uniformed...

I guess I should watch foreign news more often (I'm Canadian); the exchanges between the guest and host are so much more civil. You can tell these people are educated just by the their etiquette when speaking (although I do admit that the man was a bit aggressive).
