Now i may be attacked for thin but 1on 1 is a fight 2 on 1 is a fight 6 on 1 is attempt,now im a Black man[not african-american im not from Africa]ive lived in the hood my whole life never had my ass kicked and never needed help to kick some but these kid are straiht up punks and what ever they get they deserve and thats just that,,what if it was your child who was jumped would you be crying help the jena 6?yeah i didnt think so...

1st, you have no proof that they recieved any more taunting than they were giving out.

2nd, there is VERY much evidence that the Jena 6 themselves were feared bullies with violent records.

3rd, the idea that this was "defense" is ridiculous. They waited around a corner, then knocked him out from behind & stomped his bloody head until people ran them away from his unconsious body.

I understand that taunting often gets the best of some people, but if the law is broken should justice not be served? Regardless of race. I would love to pretend that race is never an issue, but in the real world is always is. So I can't help, but wonder...if the Jena 6 were white would the support be so strong for them? In truth, probably not.

Why has it never been ok for a black person to defend themselves against a white person? I'm white by the way, not that that matters; but if so someone was always taunting me, making me feel like less than a person I might just show them a piece of my mind too. Who knows?

I do believe; however, that while justice should be served, attempted murder was a serious stretch and lapse in judgement.

When did it become okay for anyone to jump a person, beat them ,and walk away? I am not a racist person. I believe justice should be served. Did this white guy put his hands on any of the jena6? did he participate in the beating of the black student who beat him? Words may have been exchanged, racial slurs even, but did he put his hands on either of the 6?
