I am so sick of hearing about how the jena6 are the victims. When you commit a crime you must pay for that crime. If this had been 6 white boys who beat on a black boy jesse jackson and his racist buddy al sharpton would be screamin for the death penalty. JUSTICE FOR ALL.Means exactly that. You do the crime you do the time so SUCK IT UP.

Actually doing what they did and the black community's support for those thugs has causes more hatred and anger towards the black community than ever before.

A 6 on 1 racial assualt on a white kid is not the way to END hatred and injustice towards blacks.

lots of people said the sun rotates around the earth... anyways, yes they should be punished for their crimes. but so should everyone else involved for their parts.

one fights back when one is discriminated against in one way or another. this just happened to explode in an unfortunate way. these people shouldn't get life for their deeds.

Right. Roughly as follows:

Noose Hangers: Temporary suspension from school, community service.

All kids who fought at party: Misdemeanors / suspensions

Barker: Compensated by Jena 6 for med bills and pain & suffering

Jena 6: Felony assault and PRISON

That IS what the noose hangers got except they had evaluations, counseling, & were to make apologies instead of community service.

Only the white guy who started the fight at the party got a misdemeanor.

Barker is still waiting on the money after hundreds of thousands have been given to his attackers.

All 4 of the Jena 6 "adults" still face aggravated assault. Bell (who was 2 weeks short of a legal adult) got 18 months, much of it spent w/ foster parents & going to school in the day.

RThat's such an ignarant comment that has NOTHING to do with anything. No one is getting life. The one thug who had broken probation 4 times (got 18 months, about 7 of which were spent on house arrest. Know what you are talking about. this bullshit about "life" or 20 year sentences is a complete load of crap.

Please. Some of the Jena 6 defendants have long records and tons of people who say they were threatened and harrassed by these guys over a period of time. The idea that they are innocent victim who fought back against abuse is laughable to anyone who knows anything about these guys.

No kidding. Or anyone who's bothered to look at the circumstances.

They committed a violent assault, after a long history of violence, against a convenient target. It had nothing to do with RACISM. It was just their excuse.

Tragically, their whining obscures the REAL racism going on in places like Jena. Supporting the trash 6 only makes things worse.
