I watched this on the news but this video is one to be shared with many children, schools and sports families across the US. Especially with summer activities abounding now for so many children this 5 mins. could make a difference to players and parents alike. Loved it!

The losing team, the HEROES should get some kind of city award. This is so touching and shows what true sports are about. If makes me feel so proud of her. Her parents, team mates and coach must be beside themselves with respect for Valerie.

the umps did know the rules, the two that carried her asked the opossing coach and the ump if it would be ok if the did that before they did, once the ump said it was not against the rules, then they carried her. How do I know? cause my little cousin plays for the team that carried the girl. and i was at the game

I don't know if those girls really understand what they did for Sara when they gave her that homerun. Sara's team would still have won in the end, mine would've too, without the run, but that's not the point. The point is that I watch this and hope to be as good of a softball player as Mallory and the rest of her team are.
