Yup.

>>> "P.J. O'Rourke - boring drunk delusional has-been." >>> "Word. Used to refer to himself as a "humorist" and "pants-down Republican" and brag how he would do drugs and drink with all his rock star friends while voting for Republican corporate errand boys like Nixon and Reagan. O'Rourke's idea of libertarianism is as long as you're rich, stay drugged in your little self-regarding bubble while the rest of the world goes to hell. Fucking profound. Now he's old and dissipated. Loser."

Republicans are liberals in the eyes of LIBERTARIANS.
Ron Paul/Libertarians 2012. Try voting Right one time.
Without the 2nd Amendment, all you have left are OUTLAWS.

It's a bit more complex than that. Read up on either Rothbard or Rockwell (both solid libertarians) regarding Left vs. Right.

Anders,
Libertarianism doesn't necessarily mean absolute Laissez Faire 'you're on your own now, pal' government.
But it does tend more toward the more local you can get the hand-outs, the better it is for everyone involved.
Tons of Mayors, City Managers, Congressmen - even Senators get tossed -on a regular basis- out on their smarmy, sick asses. But look what it took to friggin get rid of SHRUB?
When stuff is handled locally, esp involving other people's money, the better the situation becomes.

I tend to agree, but I image a libertarian state to be voluntary. Hence you need to give concent, in order to be a part of the government.
Also, you can create a socialist-community, where you share everything. What I love about libertarianism, is the freedom of choice. It doesn't go the other way around..

this was a better nation when we were all libertarians but that was in 1787 and gone by 1789.
a person is great but people suck.
