SL is the perfect way to communicate to those whom have difficulties with tradional school structures. A person may have difficulties of various sorts in life that vanish in a virtual space.

I personally believe that second life is really bad invention that seems good. Im not saying it's not bad entirely but it will keep people stuck in their homes. Just like instant messaging. It will kill the art of conversation. It has been stabbed by instint messaging. Now, it will die!

Second Life is a refuge for those of us who live with physical challenges of all sorts from those who either have to us signs to talk to those who use typed words or written to communicate. With voice now part of Second Life it opens a world of communication to all of us that have difficulties operating in a normal world but it also gives me oportunity to meet people from everywhere i might not meet otherwise.

The best way to learn is not simply by simulating a classroom, but say, you want to teach about ancient Rome or Greece, you create architecture and furniture from those eras, and even dress that way. You remember more when you combine visual, auditory AND text. Many people don't learn as well from just reading or lectures. I've attended a real campus long enough to be a Senior, and

The full benefit of SL is what can be made their to augment teaching, those of us who have been frustrated by crowds, people, politics can find the way that helps us to learn best about the world at large. With voice and visual it gives people advantages to learning that just going to a classroom some place loses. It doesnt matter what anyone wants to teach it can be actually built in second life. What is lost is physical contact, but what is gained is a safe way to meet people not just learning
