1: Paul Levinson vs. Jesse Ventura on media sensationalism

Back

I debate the former Governor of Minnesota - Jesse Ventura - on the pros and cons of media coverage of sensationalist events such as trials and murders. From Jesse's short-lived "Jesse Ventura's America". I flew out to St. Paul for this taping, and very much enjoyed it. This is Part 1 of a 2-part video clip.

"the key is what we think of the american people." This is the heart of media motivations. It's a reflection upon the perceived depth and intellectual ability of the masses as speculated by the media big wigs.

According to Jesse Ventura himself, in various recent interviews such as Alex Jones Show [GCN Network & KLBJ-FM Austin TX] he was indeed "muzzled" by being taken off the air and getting paid until his contract lapsed. i..e, he was paid to keep quiet. Now he's back in force with 911 knowledge and speaking out and may run for President in 4 years (hopefully with Ron Paul).

Yes, he mentioned that on another media interview also.

Yeah i hope so. I originally thought he would be good with obama, but obama is turning out to be a big liar....especially with FISA.

There were a few shows then Msnbc muzzled Jesse for 3 years until now. Too honest for the tv -=/

I work in the media. Guess what? Jesse is 100% correct! There are still good reporters and producers, but when it gets to how the stations are run, it's all about money, sales, profit. Most journalists aren't given the recourses to research and verify, so news stories are just regurgitated from one another, and packaged in ways to sell other airtime at a higher profit.
