Iraq Vet Crushed by Police Horse at Presidential Debate
BackShocking video shows former Army Sergeant Nick Morgan at the moment his head is crushed to the sidewalk under the hooves of a police horse.
Morgan lost consciousness immediately as bones shattered in his face. Visibly bleeding, he was tugged, dragged, arrested, and thrown in a police van, where other arrested veterans say he was denied medical attention. When he eventually made it to Nassau County Hospital, he was handcuffed to a gurney and given a prescription for Motrin and antibiotics.
Ironically, Morgan and other members of Iraq Veterans Against the War had come to the October debates with the intention of asking candidates pointed questions about lack of care for veterans.

Here is the thing, had the protesters actually broken any laws the police would arrest them instantly. The fact of the matter is that if the police are standing their arguing with the protesters instead of arresting them it means the police had no authority to arrest them because they arent breaking the law. Since they are being filmed they cant arrest them arbitrarily so they intimiadate with horses and riot police. They probably arrested him on failure to comply with a peace officer.

Which of course is bogus, failure to comply with a peace officer giving an unlawful order to disperse. If your told to back up and you do it, they can do it again, and again, and again until your in a corner then once your out of sight they can beat you senseless.

how many times must you be told to move to the sidewalk? Seems to me it is a valid instruction from a Law Enforcement officer. The chap had a choice, follow instructions, or be arrested. How hard is that to understand? Besides, that video does not show a hell of a lot since it was so jerky and of poor quality.

italainmobster (November 27, 2008 at 4:48 pm)
The dude was at the front of the line when the horses came so if he moved or did what the cops wanted (move) then he wouldnt have gotten handcuffed and put on the ground.
