csll me crazy, but as an outsider looking in (meaning no affiliation or never haved worked for her) i think her vicious, callous approach to her work/fashion is completely appropriate. fashion is a relatively shallow, hard headed industry and i think it is kinda vicious in itself and what you cant do the next person can probably do better. Its so easy to look at how mean or inappropriate a persons behavior is without taking into account that Anna is a women in a very dominate position.

Although I do love Vera's clothes so much, it sounds like she is a quitter and gives up because she doesn't get what she wants.

People, this isn't finding the cure for cancer or world peace. It is still known as the 'rag trade' for a reason.

No, she's a professional, I'm sure you'd see quite a different woman at work amongst her subordinates. Fiercely ambitious people are often the most charming when they need to be.

For all it's 'shallowness' fashion is often influenced or dictated to by the social and political climate, you just have to looka t the ott, flamboyant styles of the wartime 1940's to boost morale and confidence and a give a feeling of empowerment, or the upbeat music during the depression and first and second world wars. It's not quite as black and white as you would perceive it to be.

I'll stand by my comment. According to the fashionistas are we to start wearing african clothes and grow an afro cause Obama is to be president????

God i love it when people think they know about politics because they can pick out a dress. Designers reflect the political climate of the day. WHAT BULLSHIT. They only reflect what makes them money ,,,,,,,,,

No . if you knew your World Fashion History. (Check your local library in the 391 and 746 sections of the NonFiction.) During Shortages fashion designers have to adapt by shortening the gown/sleeves/whatever. Whatever the "hot" fabric of the season is ... it is usually dictated by the economy or invention. In the 60's and 70's synthetic fabrics became hot because they were new and people were using them for all sorts of things. Why not clothes? The latest trend is "going green" Why? Because that

is what is important to the world right now. Saving the environment is very important to people right now.
And Anna never said she was an expert on Politics she just stated that you can tell the mood of the world by the fashion.
And that is FACT
